I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but it opens really large log files without freezing up. Solid so far.

I emailed support and didn’t get anything useful back for days. I ended up having to follow up again just to get some kind of help. When you’re paying for a tool and you need support, come on now, that shouldn’t be so hard. Frustrating experience overall.

I was just trying to get things set up, but the docs made it harder than it should’ve been. A lot of the examples felt outdated, and I kept having to guess what basic options were supposed to do. What made it more annoying was that there didn’t seem to be any real human to talk to, just pages of docs and automated help, so I felt stuck figuring it out on my own.

I’ve been using UltraEdit for projects where I’ve got a bunch of files and notes open, and it’s been a really smooth experience overall. Files open quickly, and the project/workspace setup makes it easy to move around without losing track of what I’m doing. It’s not overly flashy or annoying, it just works and has been solid for me so far.

It works fine enough on my Windows laptop, but on my Mac it feels clunky and a few things don’t behave the same way. I was expecting the experience to be a lot smoother across devices. What made it more annoying was feeling like the support/help info was talking down to me instead of actually addressing the issue. Not a huge disaster, just frustrating when I’m trying to move between machines.

UltraEdit has been solid for me once I figured out where things are, but getting started was kind of a hassle. The menus and settings felt a little all over the place at first, and I spent more time poking around than actually working. It’s not a bad editor at all, just not the friendliest if you’re new to it. Anyway.

A few parts still have that slightly old-school feel, so it took me a little time to get comfortable. But once I got going, it felt smooth enough and handled what I needed without any fuss.

I renewed my license, but then the activation failed right after. Not sure if I missed a step or if this is a common issue, but it got annoying quickly.

Overall it feels safe to use, but I’m not totally clear on the trust/security info they provide. Maybe I’m missing something, but I wish it was explained a bit more clearly.

I use it for moving files around with both FTP and SFTP, and it’s been really smooth. It just does what I need without making things complicated, which saves me a good amount of time.

I’ve been using UltraEdit for a while now, the interface is one of the things I actually like most. It’s clean, not stuffed with a million random buttons screaming for attention, and most tools are pretty much where I’d expect them to be. Shocking, I know. I also like that I can tweak the layout a bit without needing a treasure map to find the settings. A few of the icons took me a minute to figure out, because apparently guessing tiny symbols is part of the fun, but overall it’s smooth, easy to move around in, and doesn’t get in my way
